Ruby Kumar–Thompson, Counsel at the firm of Adams Gutierrez & Lattiboudere. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Kumar-Thompson was a Senior Associate for nearly eight (8) years with the law firm of Thomas B. Hanrahan & Associates, L.L.C. (now Hanrahan Pack, LLC). Prior thereto, she had began her career working as a medical malpractice defense litigation Associate with the law firm of Giblin & Combs, LLC for three and a half (3 ½) years. Ms. Thompson earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Syracuse University in 1993 and a Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 1999. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey since 2000, and in the United States District Court of New Jersey since 2006.
Ms. Kumar-Thompson has handled a broad spectrum of public entity matters, and specializes in employment discrimination, police disciplinary matters, and civil rights litigation including but not limited to Section 1983 claims and Hostile Work Environment claims. Ms. Thompson has also successfully briefed and argued several legal matters in the New Jersey Appellate Division including Bustamante v. Borough of Paramus, et. al., 413 N.J. Super. 276 (2010); Groslinger v. Township of Wyckoff, Docket No. A-5861-07T2, certif. denied, 201 N.J. 497 (2010); and Whesper v. Police Officer Tulli, et al., Docket No. A-2913-06T2, certif. denied, 195 N.J. 520 (2009). Her representative clients have most recently included various school districts throughout the State of New Jersey, as well as in the past, various municipalities and police departments located in Bergen County.
